3. WHEN DOES Idopedia COLLECT PERSONAL DATA?
Idopedia collects Personal Information about You when:
You set up an account with Idopedia and use the Service,
You order an add-on service or a product from Idopedia,
You register as a subscriber to Idopedia’s newsletter,
You report errors or contact Idopedia’s customer services for any other reason,
You link the Service to Your Facebook account or a similar third-party service that independently controls Personal Information,
You answer a survey, including but not limited to customer satisfaction questionnaires or marketing surveys or reply to communication from Idopedia, or
It is otherwise necessary to manage the relationship between You and Idopedia.
Idopedia acquires information from other trusted sources to update or supplement the information you provided or we collected automatically. Local law may require that you authorize the third party to share your information with us before we can acquire it.
4. WHAT PERSONAL DATA DOES Idopedia COLLECT?
When You set up an account with Idopedia or contact Idopedia’s customer services, Idopedia collects Personal Information about You. Basic user data that Idopedia collects includes Your name and/or user name and/or password, e-mail address and/or phone number and Your payment details. Idopedia may also collect data regarding Your date of birth, gender and additional contact details such as Your address. Idopedia may also collect Personal Information that You provide about Your family members (including Your family members’ names, dates of birth and their interests). When using the Service or any additional Idopedia services and products, and when visiting Idopedia’s Website, Idopedia may also collect data concerning usage, viewing and technical data, including Your IP address and any other device identifier information. If, when You signed up as a customer with Idopedia You signed up as an invoice customer, Idopedia may also need to collect and process some of the information You provide to Idopedia’s payment service provider to facilitate such invoicing.
If You choose to link the Service to Facebook or a similar third-party service that controls Personal Information, Idopedia may collect and process information which You give Facebook, or such other third-party, permission to share with Idopedia.
Further Idopedia may also collect and process Information that You provide in public forums on Idopedia’s Website or to Idopedia when You use Idopedia’s Website, Idopedia’s sites on third-party platforms such as social networking sites or link Your profile on a third-party site or platform with Your personal account.
Idopedia may also collect and process certain information related to Your chosen method of payment. The Personal Information collected by Idopedia for this purpose serves to check Your eligibility to the Service and to identify Your method of payment. However, as Idopedia cooperates with third party payment service providers who operate independently in systems separated from Idopedia, no complete payment data, such as complete credit card numbers, will be stored or collected by Idopedia app.
Further Idopedia may collect following categories of information:
Transaction information you provide when you request information or purchase a service from us on Idopedia’s Website, including your postal address, telephone number and payment information;
Information you provide in public forums on Idopedia’s Website;
Information sent either one-to-one or within a limited group using our message, chat, post or similar functionality, where we are permitted by law to collect this information;
Information you provide to us when you use Idopedia’s Website, Idopedia’s Website on third-party sites or platforms such as social networking sites, or link your profile on a third-party site or platform with your registration account;
Location information when you visit Idopedia’s Website, including location information either provided by a mobile device interacting with our Website, or associated with your IP address, where we are permitted by law to process this information.
5. INFORMATION THAT CANNOT BE UPLOADED
You shall not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, update or share any information on Idopedia’s Website that:
belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right to;
is grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, libellous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically objectionable, disparaging, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful in any manner whatever;
harms minors in any way;
infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights;
violates any law for the time being in force;
deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of such messages or communicates any information which is grossly offensive or menacing in nature;
impersonates another person;
contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of Pakistan, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting any other nation.
6. HOW LONG IS THE DATA KEPT?
Idopedia will keep Personal Information regarding You only as long as it is necessary, having regard to the purpose of the processing. This means that Personal Information collected and processed for marketing purposes will be stored for as long as You have an account and deleted twelve (12) months after Your subscription has ended unless You have given Idopedia Your voluntary consent to continue to process such data. In order to monitor usage of gift cards and Free Trial information , we will store the basic information You have provided at sign up (Your name and/or user name, e-mail address and/or phone number and payment details) for a period of twenty-four (24) months after Your subscription, use of a gift card or Free Trial has ended. We will also, during the same period, keep Your personal Idopedia audio/e-book library information, to facilitate Your easy return. Idopedia may store data for longer if required by law or if required in order to monitor Idopedia’s legal interests, for example if there are ongoing legal proceedings.
WHY DOES Idopedia PROCESS INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?
Idopedia processes Your Personal Information for various purposes. Primarily, Idopedia processes Your Personal Information for internal data processing and/or to provide, manage, develop and customize the Service and its features, to manage the customer relationship with You and to meet security and other statutory requirements. Your Personal Information may also provide the basis for market and customer analysis, market research, statistics, business monitoring and business and methodological development for Idopedia. This may e.g. include processing of personal data for the purpose of creating customer audiences on third party platforms.
Idopedia also processes Your Personal Information to provide better and more personalized offers and services. Personal Information may, for example, be processed, linked, segmented and analyzed in order, by means of targeted marketing by way of e-mails and/or in app push notifications, to provide information, offers or recommendations on Idopedia’s or its partners’ goods and services, which are tailored to Your preferences, behaviors, needs or lifestyle. Idopedia may also analyze and combine the information about You to which Idopedia has access via the Service from Your online visits or other records (e.g. Facebook or other similar social media providers) for purposes specified in this section.
8.WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR THE PROCESSING?
A majority of the Personal Information that Idopedia processes about You are processed because it is necessary for Idopedia’s performance of the Terms, i.e. in order for Idopedia to be able to provide and administer the Service and its features. Such is the case when Idopedia processes, inter alia, Your contact information such as Your e-mail address or Your phone number and information from the payment service provider.
Some of the Personal Information which Idopedia processes are processed based on a balance of interest, i.e. Idopedia’s interest of processing the data outweighs the impact and risk the processing may have on Your integrity. Such is the case when Idopedia processes Your data for marketing purposes and when we store Your Idopedia audio/e-book library information after your subscription has ended.
Additionally, some data is processed based on Your consent. This is the case for the processing of such data that Idopedia gets access to via Your Facebook account and for marketing of Idopedia’s partners’ goods and services.
To the extent that processing is carried out on the basis of a consent, it is voluntarily for You to give such a consent and You may at any time, wholly or partly, withdraw Your consent. If You choose to withdraw Your consent, and Idopedia’s processing is such that it requires Your consent, the processing will be carried out in accordance with Your most recently given consent.
9.DATA SECURITY AND INTEGRITY
The security, integrity and confidentiality of Your Personal Information is all important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative and physical security measures that are designed to protect Your Personal Information from unauthorized disclosure, use and modification. From time to time, we review our security procedures in order to assess the need to implement additional measures or to make technical upgrades to existing procedures. 10.WHO DOES Idopedia GIVE THE DATA TO?
Idopedia may disclose Your Personal Information to affiliates, business partners and other third parties in order to fulfil the agreement with You or to fulfil agreements with Idopedia’s suppliers and partners.
Idopedia may also disclose Personal Information to companies that process Personal Information on our behalf, such as our IT system providers, customer service companies and affiliates. 14.RIGHT TO REQUEST INFORMATION AND CORRECTIONS ETC.
You have the right to be given free information about, inter alia, the Personal Information that Idopedia processes on You and for what purpose Idopedia is processing Your Personal Information (so-called record extract). Any such request for a record extract must be made in writing and be signed by You.
You are also entitled to have inaccurate, misleading or incomplete data corrected, anonymized or deleted. You are also entitled to request Idopedia to restrict the processing of Your Personal Information and to object to the processing. Furthermore You may exercise Your right to data portability, which means that You have the right to receive the Personal Information processed about You in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
